Asbjorn Lonvig's words: Inspired by the motif "Diversity" to the company Easyfood.
Story:
I visited CEO Flemming Paasch at Easyfood in Kolding.
On beforehand I read about the company on the internet.
Three people had invested 10,000 US$ in a company in the convenience food industry.
I was excited to meet these people.
Either the people behind this company were totally crazy or…
The CEO Flemming Paasch, who was one of the three investors, told me about the company history, about the start and about products.
Several of the products contained both bread and meat.
As a McDonald's fan I noticed that they made bread for the McDonald's salad menu. I tasted a couple of these bread - they tasted terrific.

The conversation with the CEO continued and he said: ”… an organizational flat structure” – yes, yes, I thought, everybody say so.
”Diversity makes strong” – and I really paid attention. ”Friday bazaar for the employees” – I even paid more attention.
The CEO got excited, he loved to tell about this.
He gave me a specimen of the book “book of ideas”, a book that employees at Easyfood could write in.
To the CEO this was obviously not pure business – he had this HR-policy very much at heart.
And he continued: “When we cultivate diversity then the organization comes to hold together like
a  jigsaw puzzle”.

A Jigsaw puzzle!!!!!!

Exactly.
I copied perfectly what the CEO said – and  what he meant.
I might as well have driven home at this point.

I knew how the painting I was supposed to paint looked like.
Fortunately I stayed. Another extraordinary experience was in sight.
I was dressed in a white coat, a green bonnet on my head and something over my beard.
This was of course according to very strict hygiene standards. But I looked like I was ready to rub a bank.
The CEO escorted me through the production facilities.
The employees smiled.
It might have been because of the CEO or it might have been because of my funny looks.
Probably because of both.
Never the less.
I enjoyed to visit the smiling employees and I enjoyed to study the production process in details – even if I had already decided the motif of my painting.
About the picture ”Diversity”:
Three crazy/visionary people found out, that they wanted to start a factory in the food industry. They are the dark blue pieces of the puzzle.
The three pieces are placed apart from each other representing that the three founders have each their work field.
”Diversity makes strong” is symbolized in the bare context of a puzzle.
No two pieces are alike.
Some pieces are dark blue, some are cobalt blue, and some are red.
The management’s and the employee’s right to be different demands the willingness and
the ability to accept differences.
When a new employee arrives at Easyfood this employee has a physical and a mental shape like a piece in the puzzle.
This shape must fit into the puzzle.
By intentional reshaping itself.
By intentional reshaping of existing pieces.

The red thread.
The four red pieces depict the red thread in Easyfood. The red thread is Easyfood’s values.
The puzzle tells the important story about that Easyfood’s values are an integral part of the organization.

There was a reception in the Company and
the art work was unveiled.
A whole lot of VIPs were present.

Something typical to Easyfood and Easyfood's HR-policy:
At the next gathering of employees I was asked to tell everything
about the whole matter. About the symbolism of "Diversity".

So I did.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: Inspired by Henri Matisse's "second life" - he produced lots of paper cut-outs, unfortunately they were not color fast - see my article.
Furthermore.
Inspired by the game chess, the musical chess, and by allways telling my sons that "Computer Games are as dangerous to kids as Chess". The only risk in playing computer games and chess is that you lean strategic thinking - a step-by-step approach to strategy and ends up with a well functioning brain. Of course you must not play computer games or play chess all the time.
But you never will, because boys and girls need to share pleasant experiences with others.
Recently Lumosity Brain Training has developed "games" aimed at online brain training.
Wikipedia's words: Chess is a board game involving two players. It is played on a chessboard, a square-checkered board with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. At the beginning of the game each player controls sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The object of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king, whereby the king is under immediate attack (in "check") and there is no way to remove or defend it from attack on the next move.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "The Chechered Flag - red" is a motifs inspired by the exhibition Racing Cars - The Art Dimension at Aros Art Museum, Aarhus,  Denmark.
Little Guggenheim it has been called.
ARoS is one of the largest art museums in northern Europe, 10 storey tall with a total of 17,000 m². The museum opened on 8 April 2004 after a construction process that started with the architects Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen winning the design competition in 1997. The museum have three collections.
1) The Danish "Golden Age" 1770-1900,
2) Danish Modernism 1900-1960, and 
3) Contemporary Art.

It also have changing exhibitions. Probably the most famous of these are "The 9 Spaces". The exhibition consists of nine rooms, all created by an artist working with new mediums of light, sound and video. So far only four of the nine rooms have an exhibition, but more are planned in the near future. The rooms are located in the basement, and are painted black, giving an art experience that is quite out of the ordinary.

Aros also features a shop, café and restaurant.

 The name Aros is the Latin word for the city Aarhus, while the capitalized letters of the name hint at the Latin word for art, namely ars.

The Checkered Flag is a combination of the well known black/white checkered flag used at the finish of any racing car event and the color red.
Red sybolizes sin, guilt, pain, passion, blood, and anger.
If you do stay cool during the exhibition that bombards your senses continously - you might feel red. You might have feelings according to the above nouns.

My ambition was Harmony Approximation.
You can say that Harmony Approximation is what you do evey time you make a motif.
You probably can't hit total harmony.
You must accept that your motif can't be anything more than a Harmony Approximation.
Even when you hit the total harmony.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "Criss/Cross" is not inspired by anything but my artist's statement, which is "Colorful Simplicity in Art as in Life". It is relatively easy to obtain simplicity. In cases like this where colors are not colorful, your conception of the word colorful is enlarged to also mean intelligent.
I only can let out colors by adding corresponding amounts of idea and/or whimsicality.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "A Hurt Soul" is inspired by indigenous people and by American Native Art.
I have been close to indigenous people like Eskimos from Greenland, Indians from North America, and aborigine es in Australia.
"A Hurt Soul" means a hurt soul of indigenous people when cultures meet and non-indigenous people try to "help" indigenous people in misguided benevolence.
Culture clash is inevitable until the day Western so called Civilization gives up culture imperialism.

The jubilation feelings given by forms and colors
of Asbjorn Lonvig
 
 French author Alain Joannes from Paris praises my art to the skies in his new book
"Comment communiquer par des images". It was presented at "Salon du Livre" in Paris on 10 March 2005.
  He wrote as follows:
Alain Joannes's words: The art of the Danish painter Asbjorn Lonvig communicates at the first glance euphoria in a rough state. A so intense euphoria that the glance can not move away from the piece of his art.
Of course, the saturated colours are decisive in this very great glowing. The colored dazzling and the feeling of pleasure which prolongs it have multiple causes. 
As adequacy between artistic creation and the constraints of communication, the art of  Asbjorn Lonvig illustrates an assumption of neuro cognitives sciences: the neurons in charge of visual perception are first activated by patterns recognition, then by colors recognition, then by recognition of textures and movements recognition. In a piece of art  like "Soul hurting still ", the sensory impacts of the forms and the colors are very strong and equal. The pleasure comes from what the eye and the brain receive from the red, the yellow, the green and blue at the same time as they recognize the squares, the rectangles, the circles, the triangles, the straight and broken lines and even  the letter “A”.
The glance thus filled by a profusion of feelings founds a generating mental state of pleasure.
After and beyond the primary emotion, in a second phase of contemplation, the spirit endeavours to confer an overall significance on the table.  It calls upon its repertory of already memorized forms.  Then, the pleasure becomes ludic. Functioning like a rebus, the chart of an unknown territory, a coded language or a mysterious diagram, the piece of art asks to the witness:  " What am I ?"
The many possible answers are mental resonances which give to the artistic communication a richness higher than all the other ways to communicate. This communication is intersubjective.  It organizes the meeting between the subjectivity of the artist and the subjectivity of the witness. The witness of the piece of art is free to refer to tropical sensory prints: association of a dominating solar yellow, sky blue, deep vegetal green.  He can also associate the table with an intimate collection of primitive art. He shall perhaps remember the geometrical abstractions of Kandinsky and Mondrian. Surely, the piece of art  will be kept in the long memory space into the brain with all its resonances sensory, emotional, ludic and cultural.
It is may be interesting to know that the joyfull  impact piece of art by Asbjorn Lonvig is closely related to its is canvassed artistic. High level data processing specialist then head of a software company, the painter found serenity in a pictorial creation which starts with digital drafts and finds its completion on a support – frame and fabric - entirely conceived and manufactured by the artist.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "Golden Section" is inspired by challinging the Golden Section or Golden Ratio as it also is called.
In mathematics and the arts, two quantities are in the golden ratio if the ratio of the sum of the quantities to the larger quantity is equal to the ratio of the larger quantity to the smaller one. The golden ratio is an irrational mathematical constant, approximately 1.6180339887. Other terms encountered for golden ratio include extreme and mean ratio, medial section, divine proportion, divine section (Latin: sectio divina), golden proportion, golden cut, golden number, and mean of Phidias. The golden ratio is often denoted by the Greek letter ¶ or phi, usually in lower case (φ).
The "Golden Section" motif above does not follow the rule according to Golden Section.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "Red Circles on Yellow" is inspired by a bank. The point of departure was a decoration to that Bank.
The Red Circles in the motif symbolizes coins.
When coins are nicely contained in boxes made out of one black line leaving space inside for coins in different sizes, your bank is well.
"Red Circles on Yellow" smbolizes a bank that is not influenced by any economic crises.
If the coins fall out of their boxes or the black line is demolished - your bank is in dire straits.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: The Spanish Gallery Picassomio.com asked for motives based on nationality and flag colors.
I made a whole series of motives.
To USA I made 6.
2 of them are in this "The Complete Fine Art Works of Asbjorn Lonvig".
The motif to the right is made in USA flag colors. I did not like the colors.
So, the "red" has become red.
And, the "bkue" has become blue.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "In honor of Niels Bohr" is inspired by Molecules. Molecules are built by atoms. Atoms are the building brick of everything, even beings, even human beings, in honor of Niels Bohr.
Niels Bohr (born 7 October 1885 – dead 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made fundamental contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum mechanics, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. Bohr mentored and collaborated with many of the top physicists of the century at his institute in Copenhagen. He was part of a team of physicists working on the Manhattan Project. One of his sons, Aage Bohr, grew up to be an important physicist who in 1975 also received the Nobel prize. Bohr has been described as one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century.

I believe that Niels Bohr never SAW a molecule. I mean the electron microscopes (2,000,000 x magnification) with which we can see large molecules was not invented yet at his death in 1962.

Asbjorn Lonvig's words: "Circle of Life I" is inspired by an exhibition af the Art Museum Trapholt in Kolding, Denmark.
I saw a painting made by one line on a Hahnemühle Artist Canvas 340 gsm. I do not want to admit it, but I was kind of
shocked over this arrogance - this making a fool of the spectator.
But.
One day I changed my mind and made a motif out of one line.
"Circle of Life  I" is a white line on a black background.
Life starts outside the left margin with conception and ends in the lower right.
During life things often turns left in an 90º angle.
Oh, that's nice - going up.
I can walk on water.
Obstacles or what you might believe yourself is fortune turns life 90º left again.
Super - up, up, up!
But you are confused - your head is upside down.
A new 90º left turn brings you down worth - you found track of your original life line.
With another 90º left turn you are back on your original life line.
With destiny the lower right corner.

Your 90º left turns, however, have increased your quality of life.

Black Squares
Following a period of growing political instability in the early twentieth century, in 1936 Spain was plunged into a bloody civil war. The war ended in a nationalist dictatorship, led by Francisco Franco which controlled the Spanish government until 1975. Spain was officially neutral during World War II, although many Spanish volunteers fought on both sides.

Red Squares
The post-war decades were relatively stable (with the notable exception of an armed independence movement in the Basque Country), and the country experienced rapid economic growth in the 1960s and early 1970s. The death of Franco in 1975 resulted in the return of the Bourbon monarchy headed by Prince Juan Carlos. While tensions remain (for example, with Muslim immigrants and in the Basque region), modern Spain has seen the development of a robust, modern democracy as a constitutional monarchy with King Juan Carlos, one of the fastest-growing standards of living in Europe, entry into the European Community, and the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Christopher Columbus' ship Santa Maria. I boarded s reproduction of the Santa Maria in Barzelona Habour. I was very surprised at how small this vessels was. It's hard to imagine that anyone would undertake such a long and uncertain journey in a small ship like this.

General Francisco Franco's "abdication" 1975.
The Foehn Wind in the Pyrenees. I entered Spain by bus and on the south side of the Pyrenees I experienced the Foehn Wind for the first time. A foehn wind or föhn wind is a type of dry down-slope wind which occurs in the lee (downwind side) of a mountain range. It is a rain shadow wind which results from the subsequent adiabatic warming of air which has dropped most of its moisture on windward slopes (see orographic lift). As a consequence of the different adiabatic lapse rates of moist and dry air, the air on the leeward slopes becomes warmer than equivalent elevations on the windward slopes. Föhn winds can raise temperatures by as much as 30 °C (54 °F).
We had a stop after crossing the border to Spain.

by forms and colors
of Asbjorn Lonvig...
French author Alain Joannes from Paris praises Asbjorn Lonvig's art to the skies in his new book "Comment communiquer par des images" ("How to communicate through pictures"). It is presented at Salon du Livre in Paris.005.
 
He wrote the following:
The art of the Danish painter Asbjorn Lonvig communicates at the first glance euphoria in a rough state. A so intense euphoria that the glance can not move away from the piece of his art.
Of course, the saturated colours are decisive in this very great glowing. The coloured dazzling and the feeling of pleasure which prolongs it have multiple causes. 
As adequacy between artistic creation and the constraints of communication, the art of  Asbjorn Lonvig illustrates an assumption of neurocognitives sciences: the neurons in charge of visual perception are first activated by patterns recognition, then by colors recognition, then by recognition of textures and movements recognition. In a piece of art  like "Soul hurting still ", the sensory impacts of the forms and the colors are very strong and equal.  The pleasure comes from what the eye and the brain receive from the red, the yellow, the green and blue at the same time as they recognize the squares, the rectangles, the circles, the triangles, the straight and broken lines and even  the letter “A”.
The glance thus filled by a profusion of feelings founds a generating mental state of pleasure.
After and beyond the primary emotion, in a second phase of contemplation, the spirit endeavours to confer an overall significance on the table.  It calls upon its repertory of already memorized forms.  Then, the pleasure becomes ludic.  Functioning like a rebus, the chart of an unknown territory, a coded language or a mysterious diagram, the piece of art asks to the witness:  " What am I ?"

The many possible answers are mental resonances which give to the artistic communication a richness higher than all the other ways to communicate.
This communication is intersubjective.  It organizes the meeting between the subjectivity of the artist and the subjectivity of the witness. 
The witness of the piece of art is free to refer to tropical sensory prints: association of a dominating solar yellow, sky blue, deep vegetal green.  He can also associate the table with an intimate collection of primitive art. 
He shall perhaps remember the geometrical abstractions of Kandinsky and Mondrian. Surely, the piece of art  will be kept in the long memory space into the brain with all its resonances sensory, emotional, ludic and cultural.
It is may be interesting to know that the joyfull  impact piece of art by Asbjorn Lonvig is closely related to its is Hahnemühle Artist Canvas 340 gsmsed artistic. of Asbjorn Lonvig...
French author Alain Joannes from Paris praises Asbjorn Lonvig's art to the skies in his new book "Comment communiquer par des images" ("How to communicate through pictures"). It is presented at Salon du Livre in Paris.005.
 
He wrote the following:
The art of the Danish painter Asbjorn Lonvig communicates at the first glance euphoria in a rough state. A so intense euphoria that the glance can not move away from the piece of his art.
Of course, the saturated colours are decisive in this very great glowing. The coloured dazzling and the feeling of pleasure which prolongs it have multiple causes. 
As adequacy between artistic creation and the constraints of communication, the art of  Asbjorn Lonvig illustrates an assumption of neurocognitives sciences: the neurons in charge of visual perception are first activated by patterns recognition, then by colors recognition, then by recognition of textures and movements recognition. In a piece of art  like "Soul hurting still ", the sensory impacts of the forms and the colors are very strong and equal.  The pleasure comes from what the eye and the brain receive from the red, the yellow, the green and blue at the same time as they recognize the squares, the rectangles, the circles, the triangles, the straight and broken lines and even  the letter “A”.
The glance thus filled by a profusion of feelings founds a generating mental state of pleasure.
After and beyond the primary emotion, in a second phase of contemplation, the spirit endeavours to confer an overall significance on the table.  It calls upon its repertory of already memorized forms.  Then, the pleasure becomes ludic.  Functioning like a rebus, the chart of an unknown territory, a coded language or a mysterious diagram, the piece of art asks to the witness:  " What am I ?"
The many possible answers are mental resonances which give to the artistic communication a richness higher than all the other ways to communicate.
This communication is intersubjective.  It organizes the meeting between the subjectivity of the artist and the subjectivity of the witness. 
The witness of the piece of art is free to refer to tropical sensory prints: association of a dominating solar yellow, sky blue, deep vegetal green.  He can also associate the table with an intimate collection of primitive art. 
He shall perhaps remember the geometrical abstractions of Kandinsky and Mondrian. Surely, the piece of art  will be kept in the long memory space into the brain with all its resonances sensory, emotional, ludic and cultural.
