Festival Plays in The
Funen
Village in
Odense, where Hans
Christian
Andersen
was born 2 April
1805,
announces
its logo for 2006.
"Completely Excellent", Chairman of the Hans Christian Andersen
Festival Plays,
Jorn Erik Schreiner said about the 2006 logo.
2005 has until this day - 13 June 2005 - not been a huge cultural year devoted to Andersen,
both in Denmark and worldwide.
Danes are fed up with 2005
and Hans Christian Andersen.
No Danes are participating in the celebration activities.
A huge scandal has struck the HCA 2005 Foundation. The scandal has been
on the front pages several times recently.
Due to a not profitable Grand Opening on the 2nd of April 2005,
where it was found out that Tina Turner was hired for a substantial
amount of money,
about which the members of the board had no knowledge.
The chairman of the
Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation, Mayor of Odense, Anker Boye,
decided to resign on 30 May 2005.
Secretary General
Lars Seeberg has resigned as Secretary General after mutual agreement!
There
will be implemented a 5.8 million DKK cutback on projects. The cutbacks
will affect about 20 projects.
There will be
implemented a 3.8 million DKK cutback on administration and marketing.
What a nice start!
How
it's done?
the logo! - not the scandal
The poster and logo
will
be used for many purposes,
cover of the program, on the internet, on T-shirts, on caps etc.
My goal is to make a
colorful
poster, which is one of a series of 10 posters, that I have been asked
to
make.
So
far
I have "The Tinderbox" in 2000, Simple Simon in 2001, the Shepherdess
and
the Chimney Sweep
in 2002, The
Nightingale
in 2003 and Thumbelina in 2004.
The first thing to
happen
is that I am told which musical The Festival Plays intend to play next
year.
Even before this
year's
performance.
I read the manuscript.
I begin drafting.
The colors are red, yellow,
and blue, dark grey on a dark blue background as the management of the
Festival Plays thought we were ready to change the background color.
I draw with a pencil or I am
using
a computer.
The motif is
hereafter verified
by the chairman of the Festival Plays, Jorn Erik Schreiner and the
director Erik Bent
Svendlund
The printer makes the
motif
ready to print on a computer and I verify it if necessary.
Sincerely,
Asbjorn Lonvig, artist
